Understand the need — now.
Every organisation says it is “working on digital”. Few can say exactly where they stand. And no organisation operates on one level: maturity differs per business unit, per team, per service. That is not a problem — it is the starting point of an honest assessment.
The Integrated 7-Layer Maturity Model
Our model bridges the full gap from the boardroom to the shop floor. We assess seven layers, each on its own maturity level, from reactive to optimized:
- Strategy — Ad-hoc reaction, or pivots that steer with the market?
- Enterprise Architecture — Governance per incident, or proactive evolution?
- Solution Architecture — Spaghetti and tool sprawl, or composable, plug-and-play design?
- Product — Defect-prone delivery, or continuous innovation that leads the market?
- Process — Tribal knowledge and firefighting, or automated, continuously improving flow?
- People — Hero culture and burnout, or autonomous teams that experiment boldly?
- Operations — Daily escalation management, or self-optimising, self-healing operations?

An organisation is only as strong as its weakest layer. Two patterns we see again and again:
The ivory tower. Brilliant strategies and beautiful architectures — while operations and people sit at a low maturity level. Great plans on paper; nothing actually changes.
The hyper-efficient factory. World-class operations and processes — while strategy sits at a low maturity level. Extremely efficient at making what the market no longer wants.
From picture to movement
A maturity score alone changes nothing. So in every layer we distinguish four questions:
- Self-image — where does the organisation think it stands?
- Evidence — what do examples, data and observation actually show?
- Ambition — where do you want to go, and why?
- Movement — what does the next step require in talent, mandate, time and structure?
The gap between self-image and evidence is often the real finding: “we thought we were further along — the proof points earlier.” That is not criticism; it is the beginning of an underpinned sequence — what to change first, what later, and why.
How the layers connect to our services
The seven layers are the diagnosis. Our existing assessments provide the instruments per layer: strategic alignment and operational maturity for Strategy and Operations, the technical landscape for architecture, people & performance for People, and readiness checks for the movement itself. Not seven new products — one coherent picture.
